Located at 409 13th Street, the historic Tribune Tower building is located in the heart of downtown Oakland and its presence is a notable symbol in the East Bay skyline. The six-story portion of this 89,351 square foot office building was originally completed in 1907 and the 20-story tower was added in 1923. In 1999, MPF renovated the structure after 7 years of abandonment and disrepair.

Restoration of the Tribune Tower earned John Protopappas and the former Madison Park REIT the coveted San Francisco Business Times "Real Estate Deal of the Year Award" in 1999.
